| The American Medical Association (AMA) is seeking nominations for the Advisory Committee on Group Practice Physicians.
The Committee is comprised of 11 physician leaders from medical groups or faculty practice settings. The Committee is charged with advising the AMA Board of Trustees and staff on issues that directly affect the group practice community.
The Committee meets twice a year prior to the Annual and Interim Meetings. The AMA reimburses travel and meeting expenses for Committee members. Nominees must be leaders within their organizations, i.e., CEO, COO, board chair, department chair, etc., and active members of the AMA and organized medicine. Candidates must be available to serve a minimum of one two-year term starting July 1, 2010. The Committee charter recommends that an individual should not be a member of more than one AMA Committee or Council.
Nomination forms are due Friday, March 5, 2010. The Board will review the nominations and appoint new Committee members during its April 2010 Board Meeting. To ensure consideration of your candidate, please follow the instructions below.
Nomination Instructions
1. The sponsoring organization is requested to determine the candidate’s willingness to serve, if selected, prior to submitting a nomination to the AMA.
2. Physician members of AMA Councils/Committees must be active members of the AMA at the time of election/appointment and throughout the duration of their term.
3. All nominations presented for the approval of the Board of Trustees must be submitted on the Council/Committee Nomination Form
4. All pertinent information must be provided within the space provided on the form. Please complete multiple forms for multiple nominations.
5. The sponsor's statement should be between 50 and 250 words.
6. All nominations must include an Executive Curriculum Vitae (no more than three pages) for the candidate with the nomination form.
7. All nomination materials must be submitted via e-mail by Friday, March 5, 2010 to stat@philamedsoc.org
